A fashion and talent show displaying singing, dancing, comedy, poetry, music and acrobats will be held Feb. 17 at the Calvary Christian Center Gymnasium in Ormond Beach at 7 p.m.

The show, Africa’s Got Talent, which seeks to benefit infrastructure in Africa, will be judged by audience members who will cast their votes for their favorite performer by using a hand-held device similar to that seen on television game shows.

Winners will be featured on the website www.africasgottalent.org along with YouTube, with cash prizes being awarded for first-, second- and third-place winners.

Proceeds to help facilities in Africa
Auditions for the talent show will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. with only 10 acts being selected for the evening’s event. From 7 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., patrons can enjoy a mix of vendors before the fashion show, which will begin at 7:30 p.m. The talent show will commence at 8 p.m.

Proceeds from the event will be used in building wells, schools and hospitals in Africa.

Parties interested in being a contestant, vendor or seeking more information can contact Dr. Regina Asihene at 386-451-6871 or visit www.africasgottalent.org.
