Sorority to host financial planning workshop

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Gamma Mu Omega Chapter, will present a free financial empowerment program at 10 a.m. April 28 at City Island Library.

The household median wealth of the single Black woman is $100, for single Hispanic women the amount is $120, and for single White women the amount is $41,500, according to the California-based Insight Center for Community Economic Development.

Financial planner Earl McCrary of Ameriprise Financial will be the guest speaker. A Daytona Beach native, McCrary has 28 years experience in the financial planning arena and currently serves as branch manager.

Light refreshments will be served. Seating is limited.
