The Run for the Roses, “the most exciting 2 minutes in sports” – the Kentucky Derby, is coming to Daytona Beach, on the Cinematique Theater screen. Saturday May 5, doors open at 11 a.m.

The Kentucky Derby is perhaps the most popular horse race for three-year-old thoroughbred horses, staged yearly in Louisville, Kentucky on the first Saturday in May. Beginning at 11 a.m. a pre-show will be broadcast onto the big screen. Admission is free, visitors are encouraged to stop in for a Mint Julep and enter the “Best Derby Hat” competition. Photographs will be taken of each hat and posted on the board for voting. The winner will be announced after the running of the race, official post time 6:24pm.
