New Smyrna Beach rallies ahead of Mainland

Desmond Mitchell threw a touchdown pass to Dexter Dixon with 14 seconds remaining to lift New Smyrna Beach to a 24-21 win over Mainland in a key district 9-6A matchup.

Mainland had rallied from a 17 point deficit to take a 21-17 lead when Cameron Hadley threw a touchdown pass to Chris Anthony late in the fourth quarter.

Hadley threw for two scores and ran for another all in the second half to lead the Buccaneers fierce comeback.

Mitchell threw for 232 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions for the Barracudas. He also ran for a score.

NSB improves to 5-0 on the season but most of all is 2-0 in district play while Mainland falls to 2-3 on the year on 0-1 in district play.
