Jeremiah Hamlin ran for two critical touchdowns in the fourth quarter to held Jacksonville University Christian edge Warner Christian 26-21 in in the Class 2A Semi-Final in South Daytona tonight.
The Christians used a bruising running game and stout defense en route to the win.
Warner’s defense was also stout but their offense was held in check from making its usual big plays. The Eagles also had some missed opportunities.
It was the fifth straight semi-final appearance for Warner and second straight semi-final lost. The Eagles played in three straight state championships from 2008-2010.
Marcus Dixon had a touchdown run while Bentlee Critcher and Khalil Hicks each caught touchdown passes from Drew Eckles for Warner.
