Bethune-Cookman University issued the following press release today:
“The Bethune-Cookman University family is deeply saddened by the loss of one of its students. On Sunday night, the Wildcat Nation lost Juan David Munoz, a junior business major and outstanding tennis player for B-CU. Juan, 20, was driving a motorcycle on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and International Speedway Boulevard at 8:15 p.m. when he and his passenger, Pablo Pritchard, were involved in a collision with a pickup truck.
“Unfortunately, Juan was pronounced dead at 9 p.m. at Halifax Hospital. His family, who lives in Colombia, South America, was notified of his passing. Pablo, a freshman from Spain, is listed in stable condition at Halifax.
“The college has made counselors available to students throughout the week, and prayer sessions will be held in the Center for Civic Engagement. The Bethune-Cookman family sends its deepest sympathies and condolences to the Munoz family, and to Juan’s many friends here and abroad. We will continue to comfort each other during this time of great loss. We will have more information soon about a memorial service.”
