Daytona Beach police were still searching for a gunman Thursday night in a fatal shooting at the Biarritz Club on Pearl Street. Two men were killed and a third injured early Thursday morning in the shooting outside of the nightclub, which is located a few blocks from Bethune-Cookman University.
According to authorities, the shooting happened about 2:30 a.m. Dec. 31 after an argument broke out. Police say a group of men beat another man unconscious. Another man wearing a black leather jacket and white T-shirt reportedly then opened fire.
Witnesses were not being forthcoming but police were gathering information from nearby surveillance cameras.
Four people were injured at the same nightclub in September after a man opened fire after a fight in the parking lot.
Police Chief Mike Chitwood indicated that the shooting was not related to the university.
