Midtown Motown a treat for Franklin fans

Hundreds of people got a little “Respect’’ on Saturday night during an installment of Midtown Motown, an evening of free entertainment at a Daytona Beach park.

The June 4 concert featured the Aretha Franklin Tribute Band from Miami. Midtown Motown, a new concert series at Cypress Park at the Midtown Cultural and Educational Center, will continue through September.

Songs performed by the band included the “Queen of Soul’s iconic “Respect,’’ “Natural Woman’’ and other hits.

The next concert is July 23 for “Simply the Best” and “Blues Brothers Soul Band” for a Tina Turner and Blues Brothers Tribute Show. The show will start at 6:30 p.m.

Attendees can take blankets or lawn chairs. The pool will be open for swimming.
