College to host public safety job fair on Oct. 21

Daytona State College’s School of Emergency Services will host one of Florida’s largest public safety job fairs featuring recruiters for firefighters, law enforcement, corrections, emergency medical services, EVAC and more on Friday, Oct. 21, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Daytona State’s Advanced Technology College.

More than 60 agency representatives will be on hand to answer questions and provide specific employment information highlighting their organizations and all they have to offer.

Current students, graduates and anyone interested in pursuing a career in public safety are welcome to attend. Job seekers should come prepared with their resumes in hand, dressed for success and ready to talk about their work history, education or military service.

Plenty of recruiters
Participating agencies include police and sheriff’s departments from throughout the state as well as the Department of Corrections, Probation & Parole, Department of Juvenile Justice, Florida Fish & Wildlife, and Florida Highway Patrol.

In addition, recruiters from Volusia County Animal Services, Volusia County Beach Safety, Volusia County Communications, the Volusia County Medical Examiner and Volusia County Emergency Management, Sunstar Paramedics, the Stewart Marchman Act-Rape Crisis Center and the state’s Department of Financial Services Insurance Fraud Division are expected to attend.

Daytona State’s Career Services Department also will be on hand to help students and graduates with their career exploration and job placement.

The location is 1770 Technology Blvd. in Daytona Beach, half mile north of LPGA Boulevard off Williamson Boulevard.
