Walkers pose at the finish line at Saturday’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk.

The annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk took place on Saturday in Daytona Beach. Hundreds participated in the 2.5-mile walk, which culminated at Riverfront Park. The event, which honors breast cancer survivors and brings awareness, included speakers, music, games and entertainment.

eighetta Jackson, Mike Jackson
and Chelene Brewton participate in the walk.

The American Cancer Society sponsors the event, which is part of a larger nationwide campaign. October was National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks raise awareness and funds to save lives from breast cancer.

Sharon Marcos and Rosalyn
Thompson were two of the thousand who participated.

The events raise money to fund innovative research, provide free information and support, and to help people reduce their breast cancer risk or find it early when it’s most treatable.
