Orange City festival starts Feb. 22

The Orange City African-American Heritage Event is Feb. 22 and 23.

On Friday, Feb. 22, there will be a Talent/Inspirational Night at Orange City United Methodist Church featuring Faith Henderson and the Gospel Praise, Ronald Freeman and the Singing Angels, contemporary gospel and rap composer Ronald Davis, along with a fashion show by Shirley Ellison.
Doors for the event open at 6:30 p.m.

On Saturday, Feb. 23, a community festival gets underway at 10 a.m. at Mill Lake Park, 207 East Blue Springs Ave. It will include health, food and educational vendors; a Brain Bowl tournament; and a sweet potato pie bakeoff.

Entertainment will include music by The Vibe Band, CeCe Teneal and Soul Kamotion.

Former City Council Member Evelyn D. Robinson will be honored.
