Local organizations came together last week to help Bahamian survivors of Hurricane Dorian. The many donated supplies and items were assembled at Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church, then driven by truck to an A.M.E. Church in Miami last Friday. The donated supplies were then to be transported to the Bahamas.

On Sept. 18, local participants organized and sorted the donated items. On Sept. 19, a large group met to pack up the truck.

Participants included representatives from the Daytona Beach Black Clergy Alliance; Outreach Community Care Network; Volusia County/Daytona Beach NAACP, The Links; Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration for Florida Committee, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity; Omega Psi Phi Fraternity; Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity; Zeta Phi Beta Sorority; Delta Sigma Delta Sorority; Sigma Gamma Ro Sorority, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.
