On Oct. 11, the students in Gail David’s fourth/fifth grade gifted class at Palm Terrace Elementary, ended its “book tour” of Spanish and Latino speaking countries. The class then celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month.
PowerPoints, poster boards and a showcase of famous people who have made outstanding contributions to the Hispanic culture were a part of this grand fiesta. The attire was that of Mexican descent. “Food for Thought” was the culminating event.
“Dahlia and Tijuana Flats restaurants donated lunch for the students as they brought an awareness to the variety of foods that different cultures share,” Ms. David stated.
“We are very appreciative to the community for their support and belief that we are committed to reach those in whom we teach.’’
