Black Student Association to hold festival

In honor of Black History Month, Stetson University’s Black Student Association will hold its first African-American Art and Music Festival on Feb. 11 from 1 to 4 p.m., in front of the Hulley Tower, 421 N. Woodland Blvd.

Those who attend will have the opportunity to make their own art and music, have their portraits done, faces painted and enjoy ethnic food.

Free and open to the public, the festival will include music by African-American artists and artifacts from DeLand’s African American Museum of Art’s collection as well as art from Stetson University Professor of Teacher Education Patrick Coggins.

"Come out and enjoy a fun afternoon of music, art, food and celebration," said Maite Wantwadi, event coordinator.
