Police investigate death of Bethune-Cookman student

McClatchy/Tribune – ORLANDO, Fla.  – A 23-year-old Bethune-Cookman University student died early Sunday after collapsing at a party, Daytona Beach police said Monday.

Primas Foulks arrived at the party at Lake Forest Apartments drunk and had a cup of alcohol in his hand, a police report states. He began to vomit and sweat, and friends tried to get him to sit down, they told investigators.

Instead, Foulks started “jumping around” and then passed out on the living room floor, according to the report. Friends thought he had fallen asleep. But when one of them checked for a pulse 10 minutes later, there was none, the report states.

Firefighters pronounced Foulks, who is from South Carolina, dead about 1:20 a.m. EDT.

An autopsy is expected to determine the cause of death.

The Daytona Beach Police Department are investigating the death.
