The Tobacco Free Volusia County Partnership will meet at 4 p.m. Monday, May 22, at the Department of Health in Volusia County, 1845 Holsonback Drive room 516C, Daytona Beach.
Dr. Diana Lee, Partnership chair, will discuss how employers can save money by legally only hiring non-smokers, worksite changes to help employees stop using tobacco and how these changes can improve a company’s bottom line.
Students Working Against Tobacco (SWAT) clubs and members also will be recognized for their accomplishments during the school year.
About the Partnership
The Partnership is a county-wide, locally organized group committed to saving lives and improving the overall health and wellbeing of residents and visitors by reducing and/or eliminating the use of tobacco products.
It was organized to advocate on the local, state and national level for prevention of the initiation of tobacco use among youth, protection from secondhand smoke, and promotion of tobacco cessation.
