The City of Daytona Beach will host its annual Light Up Midtown Senior Prom on Friday, Dec. 13 at the Midtown Cultural and Educational Center, 925 George W. Engram Blvd. It begins at 6 p.m.

At the event, there will be food, dancing and socializing for local senior citizens. As in past years, the night will include the coronation of a prom king and queen.

The senior prom draws hundreds of attendees focusing on residents 55 and up.

Assisting with the event will be command staff and officers from the Daytona Beach Police Department, members of area fraternities and sororities and members of the local Eastern Star.

The Light Up Midtown Senior Prom is an annual celebration with holiday-themed activities.
