Volusia County’s Community Assistance Division is offering two programs that can provide relief to families and individuals negatively impacted by the coronavirus through loss of employment.
The division is able to provide up to $2,000 in rent and utility assistance to qualified individuals and families. Applicants must meet the guidelines set forth by the Community Services Block Grant program.
To schedule a telephone appointment, call 386-239-7757, which is currently the only way staff is assisting clients.
The State of Florida is allowing the county to use a portion of its State Housing Initiatives Partnership program (SHIP) funds to help residents who are negatively impacted by the coronavirus due to loss of employment.
These funds are available to all residents except those in the cities of Daytona Beach and Deltona, which have their own SHIP funds that can be used for this purpose. This program will provide up to three months of rental assistance to eligible individuals and families.
Applications may be submitted electronically at www.volusia.org/C19RA.
