St. Augustine gallery to showcase Palm Coast artist’s work
Bettie Eubanks, a member of the African American Cultural Society (AACS) of Palm Coast’s Curatorial Committee, will be the featured artist of the month of October at the Art Box Gallery in Saint Augustine.
The title of her show is “Living in Harmony.’’ Eubanks is a color impressionist painter. Her paintings are large in size and very colorful.
“The title speaks directly to the times we are living in, and the importance of being in harmony and at peace with one another… if the birds can do it and the fish can do it, we can do it also. Living in harmony with our brothers and sister, be they people or fish or foul, we can live in harmony,’’ Eubanks said.
The Art Box Gallery is located at 137 King St. in Saint Augustine. The show’s opening is Oct. 2. Eubanks will give a short talk at 6:30 p.m.
The AACS Cultural Center’s entrance lobby is graced by a painting she donated titled “Covered by the Flag.’’
AACS’ mission is “to preserve and perpetuate the cultural heritage of African Americans through social, educational, artistic and intellectual activities.’’
